Taking Tea

Today Kirsten and I brewed some sweet tea and had an "English Tea" after lunch.

For snack we ate some Valentine's hearts left over from yesterday. They were the perfect treat!

We used a beautiful china tea set that Mama Hen's grandmother just gave to her. Isn't it lovely?

Our tea was the perfect end to a beautiful afternoon.

Cheers!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello, lovely readers! It's Emma here, and I'd like to share our Valentine's Exchange with you.

Sisters forever!

We all dressed in our Valentine's best. All shades of pinks and reds. Notice that Kaya and Molly have the same dress!

Kaya and Samantha helped me open the red mailbox that Mama Hen got us from Target.

For the past few days we had all been placing our Valentines cards in it.

We sorted the Valentines into piles for each girl.

I gave mine to Molly...

and she gave one to me!

Kaya gave one to Felicity.

Samantha got one that said, "You're the Cora to my Edith" from me, which is from Downton Abbey.

Kirsten got several historical inspired ones.

Emily got a few cowgirl-themed Valentines.

McKenna received a very neat heart bouquet one.

See how cool that is?

How was your Valentine's Day today? Did you do anything special? Mama Hen is planning on watching a Valentine's Day movie later. I might join her after I get off of the computer.

Cheerio!

Kaya's Snowy Ride

Hi there, I'm Kaya! My ancestors lived in Oregon, but I lived in California until Chickadee adopted me. Now I live with McKenna, Emily, and Molly here at Pony Tales.

Just a few tidbits about me: I'm a math whiz, I love soccer, and I adore painting and sketching. My favorite pastime is drawing everything outside and in.

When I rode with Comanche for the first time, we just clicked. There was something there that connected us. It was as if we had an invisible tether tying us together.

So far I've only ridden Comanche for pleasure, but soon I hope to start entering her in shows and maybe start dressage and/or jumping. Wouldn't that be fun?

This has been Kaya, coming live to you from Pony Tales. Farewell for now, friends!

A Winter Picnic

Salutations, lovely readers, it's Kirsten! Yesterday was a hint of Spring here at Pony Tales. The weather was a balmy 56 degrees (we've been having highs in the 40s) and it was only cloudy in the morning. Felicity, Emma, McKenna and I decided to have an impromptu picnic.

How to Have A Last-Minute Picnic:

Step 1: bring lunch in a basket

This is essential to any picnic or outing! Ours was a thrifted Easter decoration from a consignment store. Mama Hen filled it with several sandwiches, grapes, plates, napkins, and toast.

Step 2: pack something to read

Our favorite part of having a picnic other than food is the activities. Whether you bring a newspaper to read (shown above) or a Frisbee to throw, bringing something to do make ms a picnic that much more fun.

Step 3: bring your friends

Picnics are no fun when you're all by yourself. Make sure to invite plenty of friends and family members to share the fine weather with!

Step 4: don't forget your dolls

We love bringing our dolls on most of our outings, including picnics! For this picnic Emmy brought Caroline, and McKenna brought Julie, Ivy, and Josefina to share. If you bring your dolls remember to pack extra hair clips and brushes. It's also a good idea to bring a towel and extra clothes if the ground is wet.

Step 5: take plenty of pictures

Mama Hen almost always brings her camera to outings, so that she'll never miss an opportunity. This time she took plenty of pictures of Emily trying out her new violin, and of McKenna rejoicing that her cast was finally taken off.

That's it!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial! I can't wait to make another one.
