From Summer to Autumn

And, we're back! Hello. blogging world, Emma here! :)

This summer Mama Hen made a beautiful blue dress with her grandmother while on vacation, and I claimed it as soon as I came back from the beach.

Isn't it beautiful?

I was just hanging around, enjoying the sunshine, when Mattie walked up.

"Emma!" she cried, "You're finally back! We missed you, and we're all anxious to hear about your travels,"

"Thanks!" I replied, "I really didn't do all that much. We spent most of the time just sitting around and reading. Mama Hen didn't really feel like doing much in South Carolina, so she just decided to finish a couple of book and TV series',"

"That's nice," Mattie said, "We didn't do much either. Felicity and Kaya played a game of checkers that lasted almost the whole week, and Kirsten tried to learn the guitar,"

"How did that work out?" I asked, hiding a smile.

"Not very well," she replied with a grin, "She gave up after half an hour,"

We both broke into giggle fits, nearly falling over with laughter.

"What's that stuck in the tree?" I asked, quieting down.

"Oh, that must be one of Iseabaíl's knitting projects. She's been leaving them everywhere," Mattie replied.

"Hmm, I'm going to climb up and take a peak at it," I said, swinging up onto the lowest branch.

"Isn't it beautiful out today?"

"It sure is,"

The End...this is not!

Hey, everyone, it's Felicity!

We just wanted to let you all know that we're still alive, and we're still blogging.

Mama Hen, Emma, and Mattie are going to the beach tomorrow and will be there for two weeks...and the rest of us will be at home, watching NOVA re-runs and historical dramas. :)

I think Mama Hen does plan to take pictures down at the beach, but I'm not sure.

Mama Hen wants me to say that she planned several awesome photostories, but the humidity and the heat shot up all of a sudden and she didn't want us to get hurt by being out in the sun taking pictures for hours.

So, see you all soon!

In Praise of Mattie

Oh, my beautiful Mattie! This was going to be a snapshot with a pioneer theme, but I just...couldn't. The pictures are too pretty. :)

Do you ever look at a picture you've taken, and it's almost as if the dolls seem...alive? She just looks so real!

The dress is one I received as a gift from an aunt, who bought it at a Farmer's Market, of all places! It's an incredible work of art, made from antique fabrics the shop owners found at thrift stores and vintage shops.

She's a bonny wee lass, my Mattie is, and the dress fits her quite well--despite being made for American Girl dolls.

That's a bluebird box in the back, by the way.

I still haven't had quite enough time to tackle some of the patterns I've gotten for her lately, and I won't have time at all next week. Argh, summer plans!

I'll be back, hopefully soon, with another post.

Have a lovely weekend!

Snapshots: Mattie in Blue

Hi everyone, it's Mattie!

Mama Hen is rejoicing because she's just gotten out of school for the summer, which means she'll have more time to spend with us! Hooray!

She's also rather annoyed that she doesn't have a suitable place to sew at the moment and she's dying to try out some new patterns...but that's beside the point.

After being shut up in the house for that pst few months, I went outside for the first time in awhile to smell the fresh summer air and feel grass underneath my feet.

It was a beautiful day--the sun was out and the grass was dry and soft.

Do you like the new dress? Mama Hen is still working on making it fit correctly. It fit's okay now, except it's slightly baggy at my waist.

There were so many little buttercups and clover-flowers growing in the field! Some of them were almost as tall as me!

I decided to pick a bunch to bring back inside as a table decoration.

They were just incredibly beautiful. Mama Hen says that the little buttercups remind her of the yellow heather in Scotland.

I brought my flowers inside then went back out to climb around on our giant woodpile.

The woodpile is one of my favourite places to sit because I can see everything in our field, and sometimes the neighbor's field too.

Mama Hen says she'll have another post up tomorrow - she's a bit busy at the moment - and can't wait to catch up with everybody!

Snapshots: A Quick Photoshoot

Hello lovely readers! Doesn't it seem like life is busiest right at the beginning of spring? It does to me! With Camp NaNoWriMo, school, house chores, and everything else, it feels like I never have a moment to sit down and plan a photoshoot of any kind.

These are a few pictures I took awhile back of a dress that I won in an AmericanGirlFan giveaway. Enjoy!

I will hopefully have more time now to post because the bulk of the "busy season" has ended. :)

See you later!

Spring Etsy Release Is Here!

Hello everyone! The weather is at last lovely and warm again and most of the mud has dried up. *cue happy dance*

And, as you can see from the title, I've finished the Spring Release! It's now in my Etsy Shop (HERE) and is available to everyone. This release is rather small, but it is my first go at this system and I'll be working out the kinks for the Summer release.

Here's a preview...

These and a couple other pieces are now up in the Etsy shop!

I promise I will have another post or two this week...I've just been super busy with school. :/

Have a great day!
